Happy Dejah

It's funny how just fixing one thing you've been doing wrong can pull one-self back out of a funk.

I submit to you, the case of the "Keystone Torso."

Sometime last year I was working on fixing the amount of length I added mid-torso (waist) when drawing out the skeletal structure of a character. Afterwards, I had gained a greater control over their proportions as well as inspiring me to push myself further in their design. Somewhere along the way these self-taught lessons faded from my memory resulting in wonkier drawings.

So this image is a return of that shorter torso. I'm quite happy with this image overall. A lot more bunching and stretching going on then what I usually do. Also incorporated some hatching for the sake of experimentation.

The character of course is my cyber swan Dejah in her standard costume with the added large bow in the back as seen in her previous image. I still like the bow's overall effect; adding to her adorablility.

As to why she's happy, perhaps she got a nice gift from ROlive over the holidays or a new recipe turned out fantastic.
